PhD Candidate (2015 – current)
My research is concerned with seismic tomographic inversion. I’m working on multi-frequency tomography of mantle structure under the Americas with TA USArray and other global networks. With the use of dense data coverage and multi-frequency method we hope to reconstruct higher resolution images and address some tectonic questions.
As part of my project I’ve also been focusing on new regularisation techniques to constrain the ill-posed inverse problem we solve in tomography. The objective is to see how effectively we could realise transition from the cold/hot anomalies to the ambient mantle in a tomographic image.
I completed a master degree in seismology at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (Iran) in 2012.
